Kowa’s latest Ophthalmic Diagnostic product catalogue is now available. The new, easy to use catalogue contains a wider range of products from the Kowa portfolio, including a new ‘Refraction’ category, containing the KA-1000 (autorefractor) and the KW-2000 (combined autorefractor and keratometer) products.
What’s more, the new catalogue previews Kowa’s latest product innovation, the AP-7000. Scheduled for launch later this year, Kowa’s next generation perimeter provides both static and kinetic perimetry through an extensive variety of test strategies and screening programme within a new ergonomic, compact design. Leading suppliers, Kowa Optimed, renowned for their high quality, accurate imaging combined with simple, fast, easy to use fundus cameras, is pleased to announce that their latest innovation, the nonmyd WX3D, has been approved for the English National Screening Programme for Diabetic Retinopathy in the UK.
With over 5 million people expected to have diabetes in the UK by 2025, and with diabetic retinopathy being the main cause of blindness in 16-65 year old age group, the National Screening Programme aims to reduce the risk of sight loss by offering annual screening to diabetic patients for prompt identification and effective treatment of sight threatening retinopathies.
Having successfully undergone the rigorous assessment by the English National Screening Programme for Diabetic Retinopathy, including evaluation of the products usability, image quality and data transfer, the nonmyd WX3D now joins Kowa’s well-established fundus camera, the nonmyd 7, on the approved list.
The world’s first 2D/3D Non-Mydriatic fundus camera offers enhanced retinal imaging over traditional camera systems. “This is a new concept in retinal photography, states Abdul Jahangir, Kowa’s Sales & Marketing Manager, the nonmyd WX3D allows images of the optic cup and disc to be viewed in 3D, providing superior stereo images to support diagnosis of other sight threatening conditions such as glaucoma.” Thus as well as diabetic screening, the nonmyd WX3D can also be utilised for glaucoma screening with its simple, easy to use glaucoma module.

Kowa is pleased to inform that the successful non-mydriatic fundus camera nonmyd 7 is now available in its 4th generation. Image acquisition with this model will from now on be available in resolution up to 12MegaPixels in both 45° and 20°. The animated 3D display that allows viewing sequentially taken optic nerve head images on any computer monitor will also support this higher resolution.

Kowa JC10M Serie – Bei erster 3D Produktion vom ZDF im Einsatz

Kowa JC10M Objektive wurden bei der ersten 3D Produktion des ZDF eingesetzt. Die Dokumentation über zwei Extremkletterer, die "Huberbuam", wurde am 03. Oktober im ZDF ausgestrahlt und steht auf der ZDF Website zum Download bereit.
Das ZDF testete die Kowa 10MP Serie in Kombination mit der innovativen C-mount HD Kamera von sinaCAM. Die herausragenden optischen Eigenschaften hinsichtlich Auflösung, Kontrast und Randschärfe sowie die Vielfalt an 7 verschiedenen Brennweiten sind ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal der Kowa 10MP Serie für den Einsatz bei High-End 3D HD Produktionen.

TP556 – innovative flexible telephoto lens system.

Kowa is introducing and innovative high-end telephoto F-mount lenses system. This new flexible system is adjustable for 3 different focal lengths using same master lens and can be used alternatively as a spotting scope.
The master lens TP556 is designed as a 500mm/F5.6 F-mount lens. To minimize chromatic aberration (color blur) that occurs in long focal length lenses, the [PROMINAR] telephoto lens utilizes one pure fluorite crystal lens and two XD (eXtra-low-Dispersion) lenses. Bringing together the advanced optical technology fostered through decades of optics development (industrial optics and sporting optics) with the use of a fluorite crystal lens has produced a camera lens with extremely high contrast and sharp image.
The converter TX07 can be fixed by a bayonet mount to the master lens and changes the optical system to a 350mm/F4.0 lens. In combination with the TX17 adapter the lens specification will change to 850mm/F9.6.
